Who I am

my story

Hi! I’m Brianna Higgins, MA, ALC, NCC (she/her/hers)! I am a thirty-something gal married to an amazing guy, Greg! We have two fur-babies, sibling Scottish Fold cats, and we live in the Flora-Bama region! We love ballroom dancing, traveling, video games, and binge-watching TV/movies. We have an amazing church family and are both active in our walks with Christ. Without Him, we are nothing. You can find me at your local coffee shop sipping a latte with my nose in a book or laughing at the latest viral YouTube/TikTok videos.

I am an Associate Licensed Counselor (ALC#: C3461A) and Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) working as a psychotherapist at a nonprofit private practice group, LifeVesting, under the fabulous supervision of Robin Wood, LPC-S, NCC, & RPT/S until I’ve met the full LPC hours requirements, which is on track for spring 2022! I have my M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Currently, I am pursuing my doctorate in the Ph.D. in the Counselor Education and Supervision (CACREP) program in the Department of Counselor Education and Family Studies School of Behavioral Sciences at Liberty University!

Over the last two years, I’ve become a TeleMental Health Certified Therapist (via Person-Centered Technology) which permits me to work part-time in-office and part-time online to provide therapy services to clients with various needs and preferences! I am a professional member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Association for Assessment and Research in Counseling (AARC), Association for Counselor Education and Supervision (ACES), and the International Transactional Analysis Association (ITAA).

As a hearing advocate for the D/deaf culture and ASL, that I am very passionate about educating in my spaces of privilege to help bridge the gap between the hearing and Deaf worlds. Before earning my MA in CMHC degree, I obtained a B.S. in Psychology with a language minor degree in American Sign Language Interpreter Training. I love signing and may have online tutorials on the basics of sign language and d/Deaf culture in the future!

Another outlet that I have is a passion for creating beauty and art in the form of makeup artistry! I started my own makeup artist business and YouTube channel in 2014-2016 called, BriMyselfAndEye! You can find out more at www.YouTube.com/BriMyselfAndEye. I provide private lessons and love helping people at any level gain confidence in their skills! I feel honored and blessed to be a part of my client’s special day (weddings, performing arts, graduation etc.) or photo shoots (maternity, boudoir, headshot etc.).

I believe that everyone has a voice (either signed or spoken) and it is my goal to help people find and use their voice in a wholehearted way.

…so that’s a little about me, I would LOVE the chance to learn more about you and how I can help you learn, grow, and get inspired in whatever life is calling you to!
